Tasmania

A trip up the east coast reveals some of the beauty of my home state. Above left is the beach at the camp site and seen above right is the view from Mt. Atmos while below is the walking track highlighted in red for your convenience. You follow a series of spray painted arrows up increasingly steep terrain until you are forced to use hand foot and after a slippery section perhaps bottom too. The breathtaking view is worth every second and the steep track guarantees you a little privacy overlooking wineglass bay. On the descent I ended up in a soft looking bush which did not so much yield as jab into my leg and draw blood from my hand. It makes you appreciate the harshness of the terrain that the plants must be strong to survive, stronger than us week fleshy humans –I feel I have done my part as my blood is nourishing some thorny devil of a plant.
